A few images from my birthday celebration this afternoon. It's pretty neat to get to share your birthday with new friends. It is also nice to have cake. Generally, after 10 weeks of pretty primitive living, sleeping in an honest to goodness bed is pretty exciting. Cake is just too much. Don't get me wrong, I actually really enjoy being out in the field, connecting with the project in a more genuine way. But, needless to say, it was nice to roll back in to Freetown Monday night.

First things first - time to take Monsieur Lobi and his woman to their new home (isn't he beautiful)? We picked up his lady friend in Fintonia, Sierra Leone. She's already laying eggs. Perfect. Let the Lobi family begin.

It's been a long journey for Monsieur and Madam Lobi. Although, Madam Lobi laid an egg in the back of the car, as she was being transported, so she couldn't have been too stressed. Haba couldn't have been more delighted...

Birthday cake is much sweeter when you can enjoy it with friends.

A good reminder to end any day.
